urban planning 1
The area „Veielbrunnen“ in Bad Cannstatt, Stuttgart used to be a railway freight depot. An urban design has to be developed which contains different typologies of buildings.
Basically the design takes the existing grid structure and melts it with the trend of the former railways.
The west end of the area faces to a strongly frequented road in this course we decided to place higher buildings with mixed use to decrease the noise pollution. The further it get into the area, the smaller the scale of the building gets and finally ends in townhousebuildings. Point buildings are placed in a switching position so they do not cast too much shadow but to decrease the noise pollution on the south end of the area.
